A Small Rock Tower in Water, Topped with a Speckled Round Stone

This was one of my favorite images from my September 2011 trip to Mackinac Island. This little tower is great with its round, speckled top.

I also like how this tower is sitting in water with rocks stretching throughout the background.

This image was chosen for my initial offering of postcards, which are available through the "shop" link above.

Multimedia Presentation - Rocks and Driftwood

What you will sometimes find in the rock sculptures on Mackinac Island is the use of different types of media. Rocks and driftwood were combined for this particular sculpture. Click the image below for a close-up view.

Two Tiny Towers Overlooking Lake Huron -- Circle Top and French Beret

Some rock towers on Mackinac Island are more elaborate. Others are simple little piles of stone.

These two towers sit on top of a large rock, with Lake Huron in the background. The little tower on the left is topped with a rounded pebble of a stone, while the neighboring tower has a flat rock on top -- which almost looks like a French beret!

A Rock Tower Topped by a ?

Mackinac Island is home to many, many of these rock towers.  You can find them all along the shoreline of the island, between M-185 and Lake Huron.

What makes this little tower distinctive is the stone that has been placed on top. To me, the shape resembles some kind of an animal.

This might seem like a Rorschach test, but what do you think that this stone resembles?  What would be a good name for this tower?
